Racket League 0.2 | Check new Update!
After releasing the demo version of my game. I collected quite a lot of feedback from completely different sites. After processing all the feedback, I fixed all the major issues that were mentioned.
The most important update
is that I completely reworked how the character now moves in the game. The game requires great precision, and the movement in my game was too smooth, the character took a long time to accelerate and slow down. It was almost impossible to calculate the movement. Now the character's movements are much more accurate, from the very beginning the movement now starts not from zero, but from 60% of the maximum speed and after a short time accelerates to the maximum. This approach allows for sharper control and more accurate movement at short distances. This is also helped by the fact that the character stops almost immediately.

I am not sure if you can see it, but it feels so much when you play.
Added new mechanics.
I not only reworked the old mechanics, but added a new one. Now the speed with which the ball will fly away depend from the player's movement vector. If you move towards the ball, the hit will be stronger, and if in the same direction as the ball, the hit will be easy. And if you dash towards the ball, it will fly very quickly. This gives new opportunities and makes the core gameplay deeper.
New feelings
Also worked on a new impact from a hit in the game. Now the ball is illuminated for a while and particles fly out. Together with the new sounds, this gives a very strong effect.
Finalizing the plot
I also slightly reworked some moments of the plot. For example, this is how the moment with the trip now looks:
And many more small improvements. Added descriptions for each skin, racket and ability. Also fixed a bunch of bugs.
